HWB Design (HWBD) has been in place for over 15 years as a design consultancy for traditional marketing and online clients. I have worked with clients and their projects throughout England, Europe, North America, Africa and the Middle East.
But over 10 years earlier I started off as a paste-up 'monkey' with a large Bournemouth Advertising agency and moved through several of these during the big buy and sell expansion of marketing agencies in the mid 80's - eventually ending up in London for a short while.
I also set up one of the very first digital repro-capable design studios in Bournemouth - combining high-quality film separations and typesetting services to the growing number of small marketing and print agencies in Dorset and beyond. This connection with reprographics drew me over to print and exhibition work - running a busy heidelberg based print production department that incorporated CPT (computer to plate) and a full service design studio.
The late 80's then witnessed the print companies follow where the advertising agency had gone only a few years earlier.
But thrilling though 'Big Business' is - I preferred a closer more personal connection with customers which I had known for many years. So I set up HWBD pulling on the experience of a wide range of graphic design topics - including logo design, branding, corporate and sales literature - print, advertising, exhibition graphics, exhibition stands, signage and point-of-sale - also multimedia (Flash and Quicktime movies) and the new upcoming trend of website projects.
More recently this has evolved into supporting clients with their WordPress projects – ranging from template theme set up – to fully customised theme development.
